Hello blog land, I seem to have been ignoring you for some time. It's been a very busy year and to get things rolling I joined The Mighty Lucky Quilt Club Challenge. Each month a renowned quilting expert provides tuition in their field of expertise and sets a challenge. There was a cost of US$50 and by far my expectations of content have exceeded this cost. We started with January Challenge by Krista Fleckenstein covering the basic methods of Bias Appliqué. I'd done this a number of times before, but it seamed to creep to the back of my mind and this has prompted me on a number of levels. One, to make a quilt incorporating only bias appliqué, and two, to develop a whole class on the subject. So here's some of the things I've done.
A QAYG project and I've called it 'Summer Rain'
The back is very plain with a hint of colour inserted at the corner stone positions
Tulip Runner - inspired by a printed fabric
As you can see, I went a little overboard wit the enthusiasm for this challenge. What's more is I've made other items and not posted them yet. Maybe later. While I was making these I was also preparing for a little sojourn across the Pacific to Pasadena. I'll tell you about that in the next post.
